It’s hard to ignore the fact that the Montpellier Métropole has become a popular filming location for a growing number of productions. One show in particular, gives viewers across France a glimpse of our city’s local districts and surrounding towns and villages on a nightly basis.
To make all this possible, France TV Studio calls on the services of audio-visual professionals to work behind the camera each day. Several of them accepted an invitation to talk about their work – in their own words – and you may notice there’s a strong female presence.
We conducted interviews during outdoor film shoots and on the sets of Un Si Grand Soleil, the popular French soap opera, at France TV Studio.

A true lever for territorial exposure, Cultural and Creative Industries are generally concentrated in the film, television, video game, creation, 3D animation, and special effects sectors, as well as in the sound and audio sector. The greater Montpellier area is one of the major locations for the field in France, outside of Paris, where the number of employees in creative occupations has grown the most since 2008, with about 2,100 people in 2020.
